Ingredients
What goes in, and what stays out.
The brief is written. Below are the six the formula is built around, and under them the full list as it will read on the carton. The proportions are not settled, so this page names ingredients and no percentages. It is updated whenever a batch changes it.
How the formula is constrained
- Sulfate-free, paraben-free
- Both were settled before a single active was chosen. The surfactant system is sulfate-free outright and nothing in the preservative is a paraben.
- One fragrance, at a trace
- A neutral musk at a fraction of a percent, IFRA-compliant. No florals, no woods, no citrus oils, and the common allergens excluded by name.
- Held at pH 5.0–5.5
- Skin sits on the acid side of neutral and the formula is held there with it. Where an active wants a concentration that pH cannot carry, the concentration comes down instead.
- Ratios stay in the lab
- We publish the list, not the percentages. They keep moving between iterations, and a number we have to walk back is worse than no number at all.
Working formula
As it stands today
The Cleanser
Gel-to-foam · 100ml
- Sodium lauroyl methyl isethionate
- The sulfate-free surfactant the whole format is built on — a gel in the tube, a foam under water.
- Ceramide NP
- A barrier lipid. Pre-dispersed rather than dropped in as raw powder, which is the only way it sits properly in a water-based gel.
- Panthenol
- Soothing. The brief holds it above a floor rather than at the token level that lets a brand print the name.
- Salicylic acid
- Held to whatever a pH of 5.0 to 5.5 can carry. Where the two disagree, the acid gives way and the pH stays.
- Niacinamide
- Part of the thin layer left behind after the rinse. We treat that as a texture decision and claim nothing further for it.
- Glycerin
- The winter ingredient. Most of how skin feels an hour after washing comes from here.
